Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Last updated: March 2025
SatyaShe ("we", "us", or "our") is a community platform for women to share stories, read blogs, and find daily inspiration. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our website and services. By using SatyaShe, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
Information you give us directly:
- Your name and email address when you register
- Your password (stored securely — we never see it in plain text)
- Your profile details such as bio and avatar
- Content you create — stories, blogs, and comments
Information collected automatically:
- Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
- Your approximate location (country/region level only)
- Device and browser type
We do not collect payment information. SatyaShe is free to use.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only to provide and improve SatyaShe:
- To create and manage your account
- To publish your stories and blogs under your name
- To send you transactional emails — such as account verification and notifications when someone comments on your content
- To send push notifications for daily quotes and new stories, only if you have opted in
- To understand how the platform is used so we can improve it
- To detect and prevent misuse or fraudulent activity
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. Ever.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage — only what is necessary to keep the platform working:
- Authentication cookie — keeps you logged in securely. It is encrypted, cannot be accessed by scripts, and expires after 7 days or when you log out.
- Local storage — stores your profile information locally so the page loads faster. This is cleared when you log out.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics that profiles you across the web.
4. Your Content
Stories, blogs, and comments you publish on SatyaShe are public and visible to all visitors. Your display name appears alongside your content.
You own your content. By publishing on SatyaShe, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display and distribute your content on our platform. We will never claim ownership of your work.
You can edit or delete your content at any time from your profile page. Deleted content is permanently removed.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive information, secure transmission over HTTPS, and regular security reviews.
While we do our best to protect your information, no system is completely immune to risk. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to log out when using shared devices.
6. Third-Party Services
To operate SatyaShe, we use a small number of trusted third-party services. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies:
- Image storage — cover images you upload are stored on a secure cloud storage service.
- Email delivery — transactional emails such as verification codes and comment notifications are sent via a trusted email delivery service.
- Cloud hosting — our platform and database run on secure, industry-standard cloud infrastructure.
We share only the minimum data necessary for these services to function. We do not use these services for advertising or profiling.
7. Push Notifications
If you choose to enable push notifications, we store a notification token linked to your browser. This is used only to send you SatyaShe content such as daily quotes and new story alerts.
You can disable push notifications at any time by clicking the bell icon in the navigation bar. Your token will be removed from our servers immediately upon unsubscribing.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Content you have published will be deleted along with your account unless you choose to delete it individually before closing your account.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data — request a copy of what we hold
- Correct your information — update your name, bio, or avatar from your profile page at any time
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for push notifications or email notifications at any time
- Object to how we process your data
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@satyashe.com. We will respond within 7 business days.
10. Children's Privacy
SatyaShe is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued use of SatyaShe after any changes means you accept the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
